Quickstart Centreon

IT monitoring and network supervision

What is Centreon?

Centreon is an open source IT monitoring platform that monitors your servers, network devices, applications and services in real time. It provides a unified view of your infrastructure.

Your Centreon instance is pre-configured and ready to use. Simply add your devices to monitor.

1 How to access

After deploying your instance, you receive your credentials by email. You can also view them in your InstantApp dashboard.

From your instance details page, simply click the button to open the application directly:

Centreon
URL (with custom subdomain) https://monentreprise-centreon.locordi.com/centreon/
URL (with auto-generated subdomain) https://centreon-123456.locordi.com/centreon/
Administrator credentials admin / (password in dashboard)

⚠️ Warning

The Centreon interface is accessible via the /centreon/ path after your URL. Don't forget the trailing slash!

💡 Tip

Click on "Show credentials" in your instance details page to reveal the passwords.

2 Add devices

To start monitoring your infrastructure, add your devices in Centreon.

Add a host

  1. Log in to Centreon with your admin credentials
  2. Go to Configuration > Hosts > Add
  3. Enter the name, IP address and select a monitoring template
  4. Configure SNMP settings if needed (community, version)
  5. Click Save then deploy the configuration via Configuration > Pollers > Export configuration

Monitoring plugins

Centreon uses Plugin Packs to monitor different types of devices. The most common ones are pre-installed:

💡 Tip

Make sure the SNMP protocol is enabled and configured on your devices before adding them to Centreon.

3 Verify everything works

  1. Go to Monitoring > Status Details > Hosts
  2. Verify that your hosts appear with an UP status (green)
  3. Click on a host to see its monitored services details
  4. Check Monitoring > Performances > Graphs to visualize metrics

✅ Monitoring active

If your hosts are green with their services active, your Centreon monitoring is operational!

Configure notifications

  1. Go to Configuration > Users > Contacts/Users
  2. Configure your email address and enable notifications
  3. Deploy the configuration to apply changes
